The Knysna Oyster Festival has been a return event for over 40 years. Having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, the festival has solidified itself as one of the premier events of the season, if not a yearly highlight. Over the past four decades, the festival has grown, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond.
It also serves as the jumping-off point for several of Knysna's key adjoining events, such as the Forest Marathon on June 22nd, which is a major highlight of the year. Other events include the annual Honey Inspired Food and Wine Festival at the Turbine on June 25th.
From its humble beginnings as a small community gathering to its current status as a highlight of the South African events calendar, the Oyster Festival has remained true to its roots, showcasing the best of Knysna's charm and flavours.
