Make her feel extra special this Women's Day

Category News

On the 9th of August, we honour the powerful women who, in 1956, marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, to protest Apartheid's 'pass' laws.

As we look back on the feats of those women, we also need to remember to celebrate the special women we have in our lives. What better way to show her just how much you appreciate her than to treat her this Women's Day.

Here are three extra-special ways you can show her your appreciation:

Spoil her with a luxurious day at a spa.

With such a wide array of wonderful spas to choose from in South Africa, why not treat her to a day of spa spoils? After all, there's nothing quite like some pampering to help her relax and unwind.

If you're based in Cape Town, book a day at the renowned 12 Apostles Spa, which is located on the idyllic Atlantic seaboard.

For those of you who call Johannesburg home, the Four Seasons Spa at the Westcliff offers a five-star pampering experience.

Le Spa Tranquille in Knysna is the perfect place to unwind alongside the beautiful Garden Route views.

Let her know just how sweet she is by taking her out to high tea.

Who doesn't love cakes, scones and other tea-time treats? Skip the fancy dinner at a restaurant and instead treat her to a delectable high tea.

Treat her to the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel's famous high tea in Gardens, Cape Town.

Located in Rosebank, Johannesburg, Level Four Restaurant at 54 on Bath offers a delicious high tea which comes highly recommended.

To enjoy a decadent high tea along the Garden Route, book a spot at the Plettenberg Hotel.

Why not treat her to a day out wine-tasting?

Take her for a lovely day of wine tasting. After all, what better way to spend the day than trying out some exquisite wines?

De Grendel in Cape Town not only boasts a stunning view of Table Mountain and the opportunity to taste an array of their best wines, but they also have an excellent restaurant.

Packwood Wine and Country Estate is an award-winning wine estate located between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna. Try out their wines and enjoy the spectacular garden route views.

You can't be faulted for thinking that wine tasting isn't an option in Johannesburg. Fortunately, Gerakis Family Wines offers an authentic wine-tasting experience right in the middle of the Northern suburbs.

With all these wonderful ways in which to make her feel truly special, there really is no reason not to treat her this Women's Day.
