Chesham - Landmark Listing

Bryanston's treed avenues are an appropriate setting for this magnificent abode which epitomises elegance and sophistication.  Entering the acre-plus stand through double gates, the immaculate black cobble stoned driveway sets the tone for the vision one glimpses through the exquisitely landscaped garden and well-established trees.  Upon entering the motor court, the full glory of this grande dame has already become apparent.

Masterfully managed by Jason Bricknell of Emerald Black Style Concept, what was initially supposed to be a two-month renovation morphed into an epic two year process where spaces were opened, structural elements installed, floors lowered and a sublime sanctuary was entrenched in the midst of South Africa's economic hub.  The renovation process was an ideal meeting of the minds: between its new owners and Jason who is renowned for being inspired by the Art Deco and Art Nouveau eras which he couples with a contemporary edge and relentless attention to detail.  Even the marble used in the home was brought across from Italy as a single slab to ensure its continuity throughout.

Whilst the integrity and essence of the original home was retained, its potential was further polished with the application of numerous bespoke elements: furniture, lighting, carpets and art.  Two exceptional pieces by the well known local artist Nthando Ngwenya are a noteworthy feature.  The bespoke lights were designed by Jason Bricknell and manufactured by Morgan & Associates.  Even custom-made wallpaper was produced via the multi-faceted designer. The opulent ironwork was formed by Peter's Metals.

The expansive accommodation of the home extends to potentially five en-suite bedrooms and two flatlets and four exquisite receptions. A delightful study, complete with a ceiling mural inspired by the owners' love of travel, opens up onto the beautiful garden.  A graceful pool house flanks the sparkling pool and a tennis court offers additional recreational facilities.  On a more practical note, four garages, domestic accommodation and airtight security ensure ease of living.

Regan Harris and Jen Taylor delight in representing this epitome of refinement, whose appeal, on site, surpasses that of even her glorious images.  For more information and additional images please visit the listing page https://www.hamiltons.co.za/results/residential/for-sale/sandton/bryanston/house/2096/ or contact Regan Harris 082 320 6464 or Jen Taylor 081 713 7395.
