Plettenberg Bay

Plettenberg Bay is a popular seaside town on South Africa's Garden Route in Western Cape Province, affectionately known as "Plett".   The small town features six Blue Flag beaches and theres a beach for every need:  family-friendly to more exuberant surf spots.  The sandy Central Beach and Lookout Beach are wonderful for long walks and both have surf breaks. To the south, Robberg Nature Reserve is a rocky peninsula with well-known trails. Northeast are Birds of Eden https://www.birdsofeden.co.za/, a free-flight bird sanctuary in indigenous forest and an elephant sanctuary. Monkey Land https://www.monkeyland.co.za/  is also a sanctuary for all species of monkeys.  

Plett town offers wonderful boutiques, shops, restaurants and coffee shops.  Several of the suburbs are on the side of hills giving magnificent sea views.  A large variety of homes abound in the area, from multi-million rand mansions to more accessible starter homes and holiday apartments.

Plett has a number of pre-primary schools as well as Plettenberg Bay Primary School https://www.plettprimaryschool.co.za and the Greenwood Bay College http://greenwoodbaycollege.co.za/ which accommodates toddlers up to Grade 12.  Waldorf schooling is also available at Raphaeli School https://raphaeli.co.za.

A private clinic is available within the town at the Mediclinic Plettenberg Bay.  Numerous doctors and allied healthcare practitioners are also to be found within the town.

The weather is pleasant all year round.  The hottest months being November through March. The coolest month is July with March is generally being the wettest time of the season.

Plett is approximately 32 kms from Knysna and approximately 102 kms from George Airport for those commuting to the bigger cities.
