It may be difficult to imaging the buzzing environment of  Camp's Bay today as the farmland it once was in the 1700s. The area's history as a leisure destination stretches back to Victorian times when the upper classes would venture out of the city to enjoy picnics on the beautiful stretch of beach backed by the splendour of the Twelve Apostles.  The appeal of the area has not only endured but rather exploded over time to now offer luxurious apartments and free-standing homes - all in the multi-million rand price range - with many offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the mountains or both whilst being in the midst of a cosmopolitan lifestyle and a thriving nightlife.

The area is awash with cafés, bars, clubs and restaurants along Victoria Road and beyond, many of which overlook the Blue Flag Camps Bay Beach, which is a huge drawcard for both local residents and visitors alike.  One can even attend mass yoga and meditation sessions on the beach at full moon. The area is sandwiched between the more understated Bakoven and the equally glamorous Clifton and is populated by families and retirees on a permanent basis whilst also being home to numerous buy-to-rent properties, purchased by owners looking to rent out their purchase to the numerous holiday makers seeking accommodation in this highly desirable suburb.
